Chemical Blacking is a chemical conversion treatment which provides a highly decorative black finish on most ferrous surfaces.
Part of the process consists of the blackened components being immersed in an approved corrosion inhibited mineral oil and lanolin based fluid, which greatly improves both appearance and resistance to corrosion.
One of the great advantages of this type of process is that it does not materially affect the dimensions, and uniform colouring can be obtained over threads and blind holes etc.
